Deus Vult - Roll of Honour INTRODUCTION After completing their training as a junior soldier many of these young men went on to infinitely varied military careers. Regrettably, sometimes it is difficult to trace their origins back to their original training unit. If you knew someone who served with The Infantry Boys Battalion, The Infantry Junior Leaders Battalion, The Junior Infantryman's Battalion or The Junior Infantryman's Wing and later died in the service of our nation, and you would like to help us create a complete record and lasting memory for generations to come, your contribution will be warmly welcomed. Many of us who lost a friend or comrade, or especially a relative, have a desire to see them live on in our collective memory. That may be more than a desire for some, it may be a real need. Others may find such memories too painful, and we should respect their feelings too. If you would like to add someone to our Roll of Honour, please first make contact with me by email to introduce yourself and give brief details of the soldier who was killed. I will telephone you to discuss things in more detail. Should you wish to contribute material or information with regard to someone already named here, please once again, make contact with me to discuss the material you would like to add. I will, with the help of others turn your contribution, be it pictures, words or video, into a fitting addition to these pages. A little liaison first will help smooth the process. What we seek is anything that adds to what may already be found in the public domain, which often fails to reflect the personality, they have personalities, they are not simply statistics. I think you will agree that there is really so much more to be said. Webmaster: www.ijlb.com Email: ijlbmembers@hotmail.co.uk |
