... the Wynnstay Hotel, Oswestry>> will be the venue for the IBB-IJLB Association AGM 2010 on October 9th.

IBB-IJLB ASSOCIATION MEMBERSHIP IS DOWN 72% ON LAST YEAR.
JUST 17 OF THE REMAINING MEMBERS CONFIRM AGM ATTENDANCE AS OFFICIAL AGENDA IS PUBLISHED.
Hon President Ray ironmonger made the following comment on the official IBB-IJLB forum on August 19, 2010:
"Looking at the Forums info centre we are shown to have 326 assocation members. Now reading the treasurers subscription roll there are 94 paid up members shown; but here again we have three that are not active any more ,so we drop to 91 in total... less than a third of the original quote. rather sad I think. All this is perhaps the committees consideration at the AGM?"

AGENDA by Ken Nicol - Secretary
1. Adoption of Standing Orders.
2. Welcome and Apologies.
3. Approval of the Minutes of last AGM.
4. Matters arising from those Minutes. Two items fall into this category for consideration.
a. The revised Constitution. This is merely an update of the original Constitution to reflect how we operate as an Association now and to provide more clarity.
b. Reunion 2011. To announce the form and date of our bi-annual Reunion.
5. Election of Officers to the General Committee .
The only change proposed is for Graham Fowler to take over from Paul Langridge as Treasurer.
6. Report of the Association Treasurer.
7. Chairmans Report .
a. A look back to the events of the last year . The successful creation of a Memorial Garden>> at Park Hall and the Snowdon>> trip .
b. Donation of £150 to the Palace Barracks Memorial Garden.
c.
Representation of the Association at the Remembrance parade in Oswestry on 14 November, 2010.
d. Presentation of a photographic montage of IJLB to the Oswestry Rugby Club for display in their clubhouse in November, 2010.
8. Extraordinary Travel and Accommodation Expenses
No Officer of the Association claims any expenses for anything but there are occasions when an Officer has to make several long trips in quick succession on Association business . It is proposed that on these extraordinary occasions the Officer concerned be permitted to reclaim reasonable travel and accommodation expenses.
9. Life Membership Lapel Badges.
To discuss whether these should be issued free to Life members or whether they should they be for purchase.
10. Memorial Plaque>>.
a. Members will recall that the issue of punctuation errors in the shape of apostrophes on the main plaque became an issue in February this year when a non member attempted to create a fuss in a local newspaper>>. The Committee decided it was a matter for the AGM and this decision was roundly criticised by several members. In order to deal with that criticism all the correspondence received by the Committee from the individual concerned regarding this matter will be made available in documentary form to the AGM to allow the AGM to make a fair and balanced judgement .
b. To discuss whether the main plaque should be recast to remove the punctuation errors.

Ken has already answered critics of the memorial design>> with a post made on the official IBB-IJLB Association Forum on March 5th, 2010

11. Any other business.
