First Haircut I remember it well. I joined Z Coy with long sideburns and a great DA. First in the queue- 'How would you like it sir' Just a trim please. Too late buzzzzzzzzzz straight up the back and then the sides. Nothing off the top, looked a right idiot. Back to the barrack room and borrowed some scissors off Rod Brown (SCLI). Only trouble is they were nail scissors. Took me half hour to cut the top short. I hated it from then on. Eddie S
I remember having an extreme short back and sides before arriving. One bloke turned up with a 'down to the wood' crop. Of course it didn't mean either of us were excused the attentions of "Sweeny Todd!" One lad turned up with hair down his back! He actually managed to keep his locks for longer than the rest of us because he was shown off to the C.O. etc. before being photographed for a 'before and after' entry in the Bn magazine.
