WOII McCabe-Dallas RWF - wasn't he the first PS with DMS boots?? couldn't hear him coming, he nearly caught me one day - on light duties (hockey injury) supposed to be assisting the QM, but sloped off back to the spider, sitting on window ledge behind locker listening to Radio Caroline on my tranny using the ear piece that was common in those days, when I heard a "squeak" (which turned out to be his DMS on our polished lino) caught a glimpse of him between 2 lockers so sat as still as possible, hardly breathing, desperately thinking up excuses - all he had to do was look behind any locker and I was caught - but he didn't.......tune playing on the radio was "Catch me if you can" by the Dave Clark 5...apt or what.
